Designed from Scratch to Remove Every Limit

Grid dependence, scale, flexibility, reliability. The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform was built from the ground up to remove all four limits, not adapted from equipment designed for cars.
Energy is drawn from the grid continuously and at a steady rate. It is converted once, held on the DC bus, and released through the charge array precisely when and where charging demand occurs. Because the battery absorbs the peaks, the grid connection can be sized for the site's average daily demand rather than its worst fifteen minutes.
Charging sites are inherently peaky. The battery recharges between sessions, so a site can be sized for average demand while still delivering peak charging power.
Component 01
Grid Connection
A simple, load-only interface to the network.

The grid connection is a standard BESS front-end, compliant with grid codes worldwide. It presents to the network as a single, load-only device rather than a complex bi-directional arrangement, which simplifies the connection application and shortens approval timelines. For larger systems the transformer can be integrated into the grid connection container, removing the need for a separate transformer house on site.

  • 125 kW increments, up to 2,500 kW
  • Standard BESS front-end, compliant with grid codes worldwide
  • Integrated transformer option
  • Grid-tie power electronics sized to a fraction of charging demand
Why It Matters
Stable, predictable connection behaviour is what makes network approval faster
and grid-tie electronics smaller and more affordable.
Component 02
Battery Unit
DC-coupled storage, natively integrated.

The battery sits directly on the DC bus between the grid interface and the charge array. DC coupling removes an entire conversion stage, which cuts losses and lets the battery respond immediately to charging demand. It charges during quiet periods and discharges to support high-power sessions, giving the platform output beyond the instantaneous grid import limit. Capacity is sized per site against fleet charging profiles and available grid capacity.

  • Grid-scale storage, up to 3 MW / 6 MWh
  • Multi-megawatt buffered output
  • Peak shaving and tariff-optimised energy delivery
  • Energy shared across every dispenser on site
  • Sized and configured per site
Why It Matters
This is the innovation. Not a battery connected to a charger.
A battery that is part of the charger.
Component 03
Charge Array
The modular core of the platform.

The charge array distributes the shared power pool across the site.
Power modules connect flexibly to dispensers, giving full control over power levels, redundancy and operating points. Dedicated power can be allocated per dispenser where a commercial duty cycle requires guaranteed output. Modules can be safely serviced or replaced while the rest of the site keeps operating.

  • 100 kW increments, up to 4,000 kW
  • Configurable power, redundancy and operating points
  • Dedicated power per dispenser where required
  • Modules serviceable without a site shutdown
  • Supports large fleets and multi-megawatt site expansion
Why It Matters
Capacity is added in step with the fleet, not committed up front.
Component 04
Dispensers
Any type, any mix, easily upgraded.

Dispensers are the one part of the platform designed to change. Mixed fleets are supported from day one, with CCS and MCS on the same site, and dispensers can be upgraded as connector standards and vehicle capability move. The backbone stays where it is.

  • MCS up to 2,250 kW at 1,500 A
  • CCS up to 600 kW at 600 A
  • Mixed CCS and MCS on one platform
  • Dedicated power per dispenser for guaranteed commercial output
Why It Matters
A long life backbone with a dispenser layer that keeps pace with the fleet.

Control & Software

Distributed control architecture allocates power across the platform in real time, balancing battery state of charge, grid conditions and charging demand. Real-time optimisation and predictive control improve uptime, energy efficiency and power distribution, and isolate faults to protect the rest of the system.

step 01

Order

We configure a platform around your grid capacity, fleet profile, charging windows and growth plan. A Discovery Workshop confirms the configuration before anything is built.
step 02

Install

Factory-built modular blocks arrive ready
to connect. Prefabrication moves the complexity off site and shortens the construction window. Use your own installer, or ask us about our installation partners.
step 03

Train

Your team is trained on operation, monitoring and day-to-day management during commissioning.
step 04

Maintain

Remote monitoring and predictive alerts, with modular components designed for service without a site-wide shutdown.
