WHY VIRTOS

The infrastructure
system megawatt charging was missing.

Virtos didn't build a better charger. We built the platform that removes every limit on high-power fleet charging, so you can electrify on the grid connection you already have, and keep scaling as your business case evolves.

THE PROBLEM
Four limits stall every heavy
fleet electrification project.
Heavy electric vehicles have reached commercial maturity and operators are ready to move. What stops them is not the vehicle. It is the infrastructure behind it. These four limits bite on day one, and they keep biting as the fleet grows.
Our Technology
01
The Grid Will Not Give You the Power
Megawatt charging needs more than your connection allows. An upgrade means millions in capital and years of waiting. By the time capacity is secured, the first vehicles are already on the road.
Virtos’ fully integrated
DC-coupled battery overcomes the limits of the grid.
02
Scaling Gets
Expensive Fast
Relying on charging systems designed for cars grows costly and complex at a multi-megawatt depot scale. More chargers mean more cabinets, more conversion stages and more interdependencies.
The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is designed for heavy vehicles from the beginning.
03
Infrastructure
That Cannot Adapt
Fixed systems fall behind as fleet layouts, vehicle types and power needs change, forcing a rebuild rather than an upgrade.

The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is modular, flexible and configurable. It adapts as your business evolves.
04
Downtime
Stops the Fleet
High failure rates make most systems unfit for commercial duty cycles. When a charger goes down, vehicles stop, and so does utilisation, productivity and customer service.
The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is designed for reliability. Its multiple features add up to high dependability.
Conventional charging infrastructure wasn't built for heavy transport.

The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is purpose-built for megawatt charging at scale.

Engineered as one integrated platform.

Grid power conversion, battery, charge array and dispensers are engineered as one platform rather than assembled from separate products. Energy is drawn continuously from the grid, buffered in DC-coupled storage, then released through the charge array exactly when and where the fleet needs it. Supply is matched to real charging demand, not the other way around.

One architecture removes every limit.

That integration is what removes all four limits at once. Grid capacity stops being the ceiling. Power is pooled once instead of duplicated at every dispenser, so cost per megawatt falls as the site grows. The Virtos core has a 20 year design life with an upgradable dispenser layer that keeps the site current as the fleet changes. Distributed control and redundancy keep it charging if a component fails.
BEYOND THE GRID

Charge at megawatt scale, even where the grid can't.

Most charging infrastructure assumes grid capacity and charging demand arrive together. The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform does not.

DC-coupled storage is integrated natively, so the site draws on stored energy to meet demand above the instantaneous grid import limit. Multi-megawatt sites become viable on constrained feeders, without the upgrade, the cost or the wait.

  • Megawatt-scale charging on constrained grid connections
  • Lower capital cost through reduced grid upgrades and civil works
  • Faster network approval through stable, load-only connection behaviour
  • Lower operating cost through peak shaving and tariff optimisation
  • Ready for additional revenue from FCAS, arbitrage and demand response
BEYOND SCALING

More charging for less capital.

The Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is standardised
and factory-built, optimised for multi-megawatt sites.

Power is pooled once and shared across every dispenser rather than duplicated at each one, so fewer components do more work. That lowers hardware cost, installation cost and lifetime cost.

Capacity is then added in modular blocks, so the platform scales in step with the fleet and your cost per megawatt falls as you grow.

  • Lower cost per megawatt than other battery-backed architectures
  • No duplicated power conversion
  • Higher electrical efficiency than AC-coupled designs
  • Shorter construction windows through prefabrication
  • Phased capital, matched to fleet growth
Beyond FLEXIBILITY

Build once, adapt forever.

Every Virtos Heavy Fleet Charging Platform is configured to the site's anticipated demand profile, then built from modular blocks on a long-life backbone.

Grid connection, battery and charge array have a long design life. Dispensers are designed to be changed, so the site keeps pace as vehicle types, connector standards and charging windows shift.

  • Right-sized for present demand, with no overspend and no overstress
  • Plug-and-play installation through modular blocks
  • Add blocks at any time as demand or the fleet grows
  • Mixed CCS and MCS dispensers of various sizes on one platform
  • Open path to future technology through standard interfaces
Beyond RELIABILITY

Keep your fleet moving.

Reliability is designed into the platform rather than bolted onto it.

Redundancy runs through every layer, so critical systems operate with no single point of failure and the platform can stay online even during service.

Industrial-grade hardware is rated for continuous high-load operation and validated by proprietary simulation before it reaches site.

Real-time telemetry and a live digital twin drive predictive maintenance, and secure over-the-air updates keep every site current without a truck roll.

  • Engineered for industry-leading uptime
  • Hyper-redundancy, online even during service
  • Fault isolation that preserves charging capacity across the rest of the site
  • Predictive alerts before a fault reaches a vehicle
  • Remote diagnostics and over-the-air firmware, with no truck roll

That single decision is what delivers all four “beyond” at once.

Most solutions bolt a battery onto the grid alongside the charger, adding cost, points of failure and grid connection complexity. Virtos designs storage, conversion and control as one architecture, so fewer components do more work.

A bolt-on battery is not the same thing. That single decision does four things at once: it removes the grid ceiling, scales affordably, keeps the backbone simple for 20 years, and reduces what can fail.
